ALLBRANDS visits the USA and Canada

The first stop is in LA California the home of Pentair Water the largest pump company in the world where we organised to meet with some of their distributors, and look at some of their new products and how they are distributed to their trade customers.

Then off to Las Vegas we went where we met with one of the largest pool products distributors. They have over 25 offices worldwide. The branch manager and Allbrands talked about new products that they have been using for many years and that have been working successfully for them and their customers, and how to introduce them to the Australian market.

Next was a quick stop in New York where the pool season is very short due to longer winters so the industry is very seasonal. We found spa and above ground pools to be very popular. We then drove to Canada to an Aquatic holiday resort called Great Wolf Lodge, one of a chain of resorts, equipped with eight indoor water slides, a wave pool, large activity pools, a tube ride, a water cannon fun park and three spas. It operates all year round and half of the year it is snowing!

The resort is very high tech with no expenses spared and it has over 36 pumps each around 15 Kw. Every pump has a variable speed drive (VSD) for maximum power savings. The centre offers eight specialised air conditioners/humidifiers. They are about 8m long by 3m wide and 3m high providing optimum air quality. The pool filtration is by large dimateous earth filters and water sanitisation is provided by chlorine feeders and large UV sterilisers. The whole facility is kept immaculate.

We were very inspired by the implementation of the advanced technology and products which we had the chance witness in operation and our aim is to introduce these high quality and innovative products to the Australian market!
